TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
Known as the park of elephants and baobabs, Tarangire National Park is
located only 114 km of a good tarmac road from Arusha. It is crossed by
the Tarangire river, that irresistibly lures the herds of plain migrants
to its permanent waters during the dry season.
Between July and November
the park hosts herds of thousands of wildebeests and Zebras, coming from
all over the Masaai steppe, and from as far north as the shores of Lake
Natron, Elephant, buffalo, hartebeest, eland, lion, leopard, cheetah and
many other species live in the park throughout the Year, but are more
numerous during the dry season.
