Machame Route 6 days 5 nights - Route I

Machame route is regarded as the most scenic of the trails up Kilimanjaro. You ascend gradually through the forest till you emerge onto the Moorland of Shira Plateau, from which there are superb views of the Kibo Peak and the Great Western Breach. Travellers through Machame rout

Day 1: Transfer from your hotel to the Machame gate.Frm here you trek through the lush forest to Machame Hut (10,000ft/3000m) Stay /Camp/overnight

Day 2: Leaving the forest, the path follwos a steep ridge passing through heather and open moarlands and crossing a ridge to reach shira hut (12,500ft/3,800m)Stay/Camp overnight.

Day 3: You return eastwards and continue ascending through the dry landscape before dropping gain to reach barranco Hut (13,000ft4,600m) stay /Camp overnight.

Day 4: the path climbs steeply out of the Barranco Valley crosses the karanga Valley, then turn north tto reach Barafu hut (15,500ft/4,600m). stay/camp overnight.

Day 5: a long day and an early start to reach the carater rim at Stella Point for sunrise. Then to Uhuru peakhighest point in Africa. Afterwards deswcend to Gillman;'s Pointand on down to Mweka hut Stay overnight.

Day 6: Descend passing Mweka hut to the park gate from where you are transfered back to your hotel

Any additional day is $150 per person
